Working within the mechanical department and with other engineers, the role of a Junior Tendering and Project Engineer will be pivotal in ensuring the coordination of all aspects pertaining to the tendering process for mechanical-related projects.

Main responsibilities: 
 

• Perform costing calculations based on the tender documentation (Design drawings, Bill of Quantities, Tender specifications).

• Performing site surveys as required and evaluate clients and systems requirements.

• Liaising with systems manufacturers and suppliers to obtain viable projects/bids for cost-effectiveness, whilst ensuring the right quality in the materials/systems proposed.

• Preparing quotations for active and passive mechanical fire protection systems.

• Work together with the Operations Department to follow through the entire project, from the execution all the way up to the final acceptance ensuring that projects are planned and implemented in line with agreed criteria as awarded.
   

Skills, Qualifications & Attributes: 

 

• Be a dynamic and analytical person, who is eager to learn and strives to achieve the desired results both financially and qualitatively, and this within the planned timeframe.

• Knowledge of contractual terms and conditions is considered an asset.

• Have knowledge of quality and environmental systems, including mechanical fire protection systems.

• Must have experience with AutoCAD, Word & Excel Software.

• Being in possession of an engineering-based certification (or working towards obtaining it), working towards obtaining the Engineering profession warrant or having the relevant on the job experience, will be given preference.
